HEATING SOLUTIONS TO EXTEND THE 2024 SEASON
A pool heater or a pool heat pump are the most common heating solutions that allow you to maintain a continuous temperature in warm and cooler weather. Both enable energy-efficient heating for every budget. Brent and Derrick Marth have the manufacturer training to help you consider the various factors and recommend the best heating solution for your pool.
3 FACTORS TO CONSIDER
- Size & shape of the pool
- Season length: Summer vs. Extended Season
- Heater Size in BTUs
HEAT PUMP
Heat pumps take heat from the air and transfer it into your pool water and operate energy-efficiently to deliver savings of up to 70% versus a gas heater. A heat pump is not meant to raise the temperature of the water quickly, but can maintain heat and extend swim season. Another advantage: the heat pump can keep your water cooler on the hottest summer days.
GAS HEATER
A gas pool heater burns gas to heat water for your pool, making it the ideal pool heating solution if you have low-cost access to natural gas or propane. Gas-fired pool heaters pack a powerful punch and can heat your pool’s water faster than a heat pump.
CHOOSING THE CORRECT HEATER FOR YOUR POOL
Either will make your pool just as warm and comfortable as the other, but differences in energy content, distribution methods and fuel cost need to be considered. Caution: only a licensed gas plumber can hook up the gas line. Future “carbonization” regulations & environmental concerns point to heat pumps as a prevalent heating method.
